The Anegada Lobster Festival is back on 27 to 29 November 2026, the Friday to Sunday after US Thanksgiving. It is the best excuse of the year to make the sail to Anegada, and the busiest weekend the anchorage sees before Christmas.
How the festival works
Restaurants around the island each put up small lobster plates: fritters, jerk lobster, curried lobster, lobster mac and cheese. You go from one to the next by taxi, scooter or open safari truck and eat your way round. There is live music at night. The list of restaurants for 2026 had not been published when we wrote this.
Getting there on a bareboat
- Leave from North Sound. It is about 13 miles of open water to Setting Point. Go early, so you arrive with the sun high and can read the reef.
- Follow the marked channel. Anegada is flat and you will not see it until you are close. The approach has coral heads either side.
- Ask your charter company first. Some want a briefing before you go, and a few do not allow it at all.
- Arrive Thursday if you can. The moorings at Setting Point fill early on festival weekend. If they are gone, anchor in sand in seven to nine feet.
- Stay two nights. One day for the festival, one for Loblolly Bay, Cow Wreck Beach and the flamingos.
Tips from people who have done it
- Book your main lobster dinner before you arrive. The tasting plates are snacks. The grilled lobster dinner on the beach still needs a reservation, made by mid afternoon at the latest.
- Carry cash for taxis and the smaller stands.
